Verifying That Disk Encryption Completed Successfully?

I need a solution

Problem:  Thought I initiated whole disk encryption on my primary drive which is an SSD.  As far as I could tell, it did successfully complete and the Symantec Encryption Desktop GUI shows a padlock with a blue backgound next to the disk as well as the partition,  When I boot the machine - the Symatec PGP interface comes up and I have to put in my password before the system does anything.  So it looks fine to me and is working as expected - or so I thought.

My employer periodically runs a security scan and tells me the disk is not encrypted.  After further dicussion with IT tech person - he has me run the following command to verify:

pgpwde.exe --status --disk 0 --aa

Output:

Disk 0 is not instrumented by bootguard.
Request sent to Disk status was successful

IT tech says that proves the disk is actually NOT been encrypted.

I am confused.  Is it encrypted or not?  If it is not, what are the next steps to complete?

Running Symatec Encryption Desktop 10.3.2 MP2, Windows 7 Pro SP1, Lenovo laptop.

Thanks in advance.
