PGP Expired key

Hi All,

I have some questions regarding Keys in PGP:

1. In the endpoind side, why is it that the Private Key is expired?

2. If it is expired does it have any effect on the endpoint and on the server (SEMS)? 

3. Is it possible to extend the expired key even if it is expired?
