Log for ADC Blocking

I need a solution

I have several similar devices that keep getting blocked by my ADC policy.  I see the notification window when I plug one in.  I used DevViewer to try to determine the Device ID, but the IDs are different.  I tried opening the class of the device but they still get blocked.  I need to know exactly why the ADC policy is blocking it. 

Where can I find a log that tells me that a device was blocked by ADC, why it was blocked (which ADC block rule did it trigger), and what was the Device ID and Class ID of the device that was blocked?

Hi i have a problem, i installed DLP but in the login i saw the message: 

Invalid Username/Password or Disabled Account

Is the "Caps Lock" light on your keyboard on?

Did you forget or misspell your username, password or role name? If so, please contact the system administrator for assistance.  

I attached an image, and i need to know why show me this? i configured all same that the documents and videos of Symantec in the internet, i hope that you can help to me...

IDM Exact Match exception not working

Has anyone else experienced an issue with IDM where you create an exception for an exact match on a document, but you get incidents with a 100% match on that doc anyway?

I am doing some simple IDM testing where I indexed a single blank form, and created a policy to find any docs with at least a 50% match. I also added an exception for an exact match for the same doc index, hoping this would cause the blank form to be ignored. Now, when I test with a completed form, I get an incident with an 85% match (good), but I also get an incident with a 100% match when I test with the blank form (not good). Interestingly, if I lower the exception down to 90%, it DOES get ignored like it should. Its as if there is a difference between 100% and "exact." Am I missing something? Has anyone else experienced this or know why it would be occuring? BTW I am using DLP 12.5.2.

I need a solution

Hi,

I have a java application that sends files to Symantec Protection Engine to scan for viruses using ICAP.  I now want to implement scanning of files for data leak prevention using my ICAP client API in the same way.  I am not impelmenting this in a proxy server or email server kind of environment.   My company has Symantec DLP servers setup.    I can't find any reference on how to submit files to the DLP servers directly like I do with protection engine.   I also need ot know what result codes come back after the file is scanned.   Is there any referance material available that can help me?

I need a solution

Hi,

I have existing PGP Command Line License (Licenses to 8 CPU) on the old Microsoft Windows 2008 Servers (8 CPUs Physical Server ) and just renew to 09-Nov-2017.

We are migrating to new vmware Microsoft Windows 2012 Enterprise Server (4 vCPUs),

Question:

1. Can we reuse the existing PGP Command Line License for the new Server?

2. What is the difference of the number of licenses and is there any limitation for less CPUs?

DCS:S vCenter is not linked to vShield

I need a solution

Has anyone come across this issue?  I'm trying to add vCenter & vShield to the DCS UMC and I always get the error: "vCenter is not linked to vShield".

Background:

Data Center Security:Server 6.6.0.251
vCenter 6-2776511
vShield 5.5.4-2673026

vShield Manager was registered with vCenter.  All objects appear in vShield Manager and vCenter thick client has vShield tabs and data.  Deployed vShield Endpoints to all ESXi Hosts via vShield Manager successfully.  No errors in vShield Manager.

Able to log into DCS UMC and everything appears good.  License is installed as well.  Added self-generated root CA for UMC to my trusted root certificate authorities.  

Tried adding vCenter/vShield to DCS with various username/passwords including using administrator@vsphere.local and vShield built in admin account.  Everytime I am able to authenticate to vCenter/vShield no problem but get the error "vCenter is not linked to vShield" which it clearly is.  

Any suggestions on what I can look for?  I've had a ticket open with Symantec support for 12 days and don't seem to be getting any traction.

Dear All,

We have notieced after we uninstall the SEP client form any endpoint it successfully uninstall but the issue we are facing is the movement the SEP uninstalled there will be a supplicant profile related to WIFI connectivity is being removed and if we try to create manually create it its not working, this issue is happening in all kind of windows OS, please help.

Cloud Agent not connect

I do not need a solution (just sharing information)

I install the agent on the pc put it does not communicate with the cloud.

The installation is only succesfull if  the pc is connected dirrect to the internet.

Through the Microsoft ISA it fails......................... what ports do i need to open on ISA?

ports 80 and 443 are open

The Partner Management Console (PMC) and the Hosted Endpoint (SPN) page each have a question mark icon in the upper, right-hand corner of the screen.

If you click on the question mark, a drop-down menu is presented.

Most commonly you have used this to create support tickets for problems that have occurred.

Just this week I learned that if you have suggestions or requests for product improvement, you should use the Feedback option.

Apparentlly these go directly to the developers, not to tech support, so that they can see what people think about what does - and doesn't - work with SEP.cloud.

Having worked previously at Fortune 100 companies, I am certain that the implementation of any request is based on the number, the feasability, the cost, and the time to implement.

However, until I heard about this, I had no idea that we, as Symantec partners, MSPs, and product administrators, could actually influence the features of this product.

Once I found out about this, I unleashed a small blizzard of requests, and (naively) hope that something positive may happen in the future.

Issues with Exchange 2010 following upgrade of SMG to 10.6.0-7

Has anyone else come across any issues after they've upgraded their Symantec Messaging Gateway (SMG) from 10.5.4-4 to 10.6.0-7?

I did the update this morning and since then I've started seeing a number of "Undelivered Mail Returned to Sender" items in the Exchange 2010 Queue Viewer. Each item has the following error message when you open the Properties:

Last Error: 400 4.4.7 The server responded with: 550 5.6.2 SMTPSEND.BareLinefeedsAreIllegal; message contains bare linefeeds, which cannot be sent via DATA. The failure was replaced by a retry response because the message was marked for retry if rejected.

Each instance appears to also correspond with an 8010 Event in the Exchange server's Application Log:

A message with the Internal Message ID *number* was rejected by the remote server.  This message will be deferred and retried because it was marked for retry if rejected.  Other messages may also have encountered this error.

I can confirm that we had no 8010 errors in the Application event log before today and it would appear that these undelivered emails actually clog up the email flow, unless they are either suspended or removed (with or without an NDR)

Oddly enough it only appears to effect emails that are being Journaled and even then it's only some Journaled emails and not all of them.

At this point I haven't been able to find any log entries on the SMG server, but I'm also aware that I might not be looking in the correct place.

Before performing the update, I checked for known issues and this certainly wasn't listed.

Does anyone have any thoughts?

pgp:encrypt (3090:operation failed, file operation error)

I need a solution

Hi,

I unable to create pgp file from windows service or job. Below I mentioned more details and steps what I did in the service/job.

Machine-1(PC):
pgp --gen-key "MyPublicID" --key-type RSA --bits 2048 --passphrase "mypass$283@3" (public key is generated based, i can see in the "pgp --list-keys")
pgp --export "MyPublicID" (Now I got the MyPublicID.asc file)

Machine-2(PC):
pgp --import "E:\MyDir\MyPublicID.asc" (From windows serivce/job, I import the public key which I was created on the Machine-1)
pgp -er MyPublicID "E:\TextFile\*.txt" -o "E:\PgpFile\EncryptFile_2016-01-28.pgp" (After importing, I try to create encrypted pgp file using the public key which I imported)

Windows service/job received an error "encrypt (3064:key invalid) pgp:encrypt (3090:operation failed, file operation error)", not creating pgp file.

Note: If we execute above mentioned same command manually(not as windows service/job), we can able to create pgp file.

Please help us, how to resolve this issue and create .pgp file from windows service/job.

How do signature updates work?

I need a solution

If we set up a SEPM server and deploy clients from that server, aren't all clients required to go directly to the server to pick up the updates?  We only want the SEPM server going to the Internet to pick up updates and have the clients connect to it for their updates, but it appears that a lot of our clients are going directly to the Internet.  We want to stop this behaviour.  How do we do this?

My environment is running on DLP version 12.5.1. I planning  for an  upgrade from 12.5.1 to  version 12.5.3. Is it adviasable to upgrade directly to 12.5.3 without upgrading to 12.5.2 ?

Shutdown does not unmount encrypted disk

I need a solution

I'm running PGP Desktop 10.2.0 Build 1672 under Windows 10.  Everytime I shutdown and restart my mounted PGP Disk is still mounted.  When I restart it is not.  Why is this happening?  I have "Do not save password" checked off in options.  I do not want it to stay mounted after I shutdown and start back up.  I have no idea how this can even happen.  How can PGP save my password???

URGENT: Cant remove Symantec form PC

Hello, 

Yesterday i installed a software from a website, which, unfortunatelly, was malicious. Laater some unusal things happen in my pc (like chome closed so). I Checked the Maintance and Secrurity and found tha SEP is snoozing. I tried to activate it, but it said "You cannot activate Symantech. This action is blocked by SEP administrator." 
 

Later i decided unsintall Symantech Endpoint Protetion and gowith basic windows defender, but whenever i try to uninstall it, i get an error like " Fatal Error occured could not uninstall file". Later i  installed CleanWipe tried with it. But it said

"15:28:48    FATAL    Fatal error: Could not copy file C:\Users\MyPC\AppData\Local\Temp\7zOC1F338FC\CleanWipe.db to C:\WINDOWS\Temp\CleanWipe_201601311528318\CleanWipeState.db.
15:47:52    FATAL    . Error code: 2 (0x2): The system cannot find the file specified." 

When i try to repair it, i get some fatal error message as well.

I run "smc -stop" with win+R to activate windows deffender, but it did not do any change. 
Later i typed start smc stop in the command propmt, it didnot work as well. 

Could you say, what would solve all these issues here?

I need a solution

Hey guys, I need some guidance here. I paid for 3 years of PGP updates, money that left my account over a year ago and the entire premise is based on Symantec providing updgrades - El Capitan came out a while ago and the article mentioned only has it as a "request".

I had already accepted the fact that support for new versions of Mac OS would take a few months, but in the past (e.g. Yosemite) at least I had the certainty Symantec was working on it - that does not seem to be the case now.

Here is where the guidance is needed,

a) I would like an update on plans for OS X 10.11.3 compatibillity and please don't refer me to the page that has not been updated in months.

b) if there are no plans to provide compatibility, what about the payment I made for license upgrades?
