Symantec PGP Desktop, Microsoft Office Prof (Outlook), delay emails, problem

I need a solution

Hi All,

My situation:

I get used to using option "delay before sending" in Microsoft Outlook. Without  PGPDesktop and PGP Messaging it works that there is the message in folder pending and I can edit this message, add or delete some text and send it again. When the message is sent, I see it in the sent folder and when I open it  there are my changes.

But when I use the same Microsoft Outlook with PGP Desktop with PGP Messaging the situation is that I sent email, it is pending but I can already see it in the sent folder. And when I edit the pending  email (add or delete something) and it is sent I cannot see my changes. Even in folder sent there is still the message before editing.

But the recipient is receiving email with my changes.

I need my emails with changes.

My question is where does the PGP desktop keep the email (with changes)?

I need a solution

Good Morning, I have a big problem with the Symantec Encryption Desktop.

I have a Laptop Dell Latitude E7240 with Windows 8.1, working great before intalled the Encryption. I install the client (Client 10.3.2. MP10 Build 21165 ) and have a successful installation but after the installation I put my user and password fot the validation and never WIndows upload, I only see a Black screen with a blinking cursor.

I created a Recovery Disk Image to upload W8, and I can upload and work in windows but it is not the solution, I have to upload windows without the recovery disk, How can I resolve that.

Hi,

Please help me with below.

These 500 users are at 4 different locations, although the billing will be at 1 location but we need to install server at 4 different locations and assign users to these locations separately e.g. 70 at 1 location 150 at other location and so on. Also these numbers may change from time to time but not very frequently e.g. 10 users are moved from Delhi office to Gurgaon.

Quick Heal had given us the flexibility to add and remove licenses between locations. How we are going to manage this with Symantec.

Local Bad sender domains don't work for all emails

Hi,

on Messaging Gateway 10.5.4.4, in Reputation/policiese/bad senders/local bad sender domains, i've add 579 spam domains.

Problem is that some of them are bypassed from email and them arrive.

For example, i've added "credemonline.it" but if the email is with this sender "servizio.clienti@intesasanpaolo.com"<info.44063@credemonline.it>, it will be delivery without rules check.

How is it possible?

Web Console occasionally not responding on port 9090

Hey,

one of our customers reported the following problem:

Every once in a while (1-2 weeks) the web console does not open up because the server is obviously not responding on port 9090 anymore. The server itself works totally fine and if you connect via RDP the SEP console on the server opens up like it should, it's just the web console that doesn't work anymore. When the customer reboots the server everything works again for a couple of weeks. SEP version is 12.1.6 (don't know the exact build number).

Any idea what could cause this behaviour? Are there any log files that could help to find the cause?

I am planning to block 500 URL's using SEP Firewall. I have below questions on this approach.



1)Is it fine to block this much of URL's in one rule/policy

2)Will there be any performance issue for users like any slowness in accessing the sites for users because of this rule

How to point client to new SEPM server from different Domain

Hi Guys,

I have 60 Linux & Windows servers runnning in Domain A and i want to install symantec and point my client to get updates from SEPM server in Domain B, Can you advise on this

I verified i can  ping Domain B's SEPM & Live update servers from Domain A. But no Name resolution

Do i need to create a A record in  Domain A ? is it enough ?  Please advise

Hello,

We noticed that the recovery mode on the SEEMSDb is configured as "Full" by the installation wizard. This is causing our transaction logs to grow very quickly even with maintenence jobs running against the DB on a daily basis. Is it safe to change the recovery mode to "Simple" without effecting functionality?

CCS Console on CCS server fails to open

When opening CCS Console on CCS server using CCS admin account, the following error pops up....

Symantec Console has stopped working

Problem signature:

Event Name: CLR20r3

Signature 01: symconsole.exe

Signature 02: 11.10.100000.1160

Signature 03: 546118e9

Signature 04: System.xml

....

No console log created.

Remote workstation and users are able to use CCS console.

SIEM Integration with SMS Brigthmail

I need a solution

Hi All,

we are currently working on to intergrate Messaging Gateway with ArcSight SIEM. i am able to send the syslog to ArcSight but it is not able to recognise the format of the log and just displays the raw syslog event. 

I made a support ticket and they informed me that they don't have any document for intergation with either ArcSIght or anyother syslog solution. 

so i just want to ask has anyone be able to integrate SMS with SIEM or syslog and get the proper events not just raw events.

Some clients will not upgrade to 12.1.6 MU3

I need a solution

Hi!

After upgrading our SEPM environment, some clients (looks random to me) will not upgrade.

The process we use is to add install package to a group, and move clients to that group. Most of the clients upgrades just fine. We have not experienced this in earlier versions of the product.

In the attachment, the dialogue is from when I try to use Push mode (5 min interval). (In prod we use pull mode HB 2 hours.)

..only a few client experience the problem, and I really suspect that these clients are having an issue..

Any suggestions/ideas?
